Set up your bill calendar
Start by listing every recurring charge you have. All of them. Here's what most people forget:
Rent or mortgage · Electric · Water · Gas · Internet · Phone · Car insurance · Health insurance · Streaming subscriptions · Gym membership · Loan payments · Credit card minimums · Annual subscriptions (these sneak up on you)
For each one, write down three things: the name, the amount, and the due date. That's your bill calendar. Now you have a complete picture instead of scattered reminders in your head.
💡 Auto-detect with payee rules
In Ambit Starter, when you import bank data, set up payee rules with due days. The dashboard shows which bills are paid, which are coming up, and which are overdue.
Here's how it works: you create a payee rule once (for example, "ELECTRIC CO" maps to your electric bill, due on the 15th). From then on, every time you import transactions, Ambit automatically matches that payment and marks the bill as paid for the month.
